Geoff joined David Bowie?s backing band just six months after the groundbreaking Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars had conquered the UK charts. For the next three years he was by Bowie?s side, travelling through Japan, across Russia on the Trans-Siberian Express, through Paris and Rome, and all over the US.
He was on stage when Bowie retired Ziggy Stardust. He helped record several albums, including Pin Ups, Diamond Dogs, Young Americans and Station To Station. Involved in five tours he learnt mime and dance for the Diamond Dogs stage show and performed at such venues as Madison Square Garden in New York and the Universal Amphitheatre in LA in front of the likes of Diana Ross, Paul McCartney and The Jackson Five. h
He changed his name to Warren Peace; sang with Luther Vandross, Lulu and Bobby Bland; narrowly avoided detention in East Berlin, a drugs-bust in Atlanta, and being murdered in New York; drove Bowie?s Winnebago from LA to Albuquerque in one night with the help of a fountain pen; and acted as Bowie?s body double during the filming of Nic Roeg?s The Man Who Fell To Earth.
