Somebody plays my song in tune...

For this contest that we set earlier in the week (03.14.2006 NEWS: DANNY MICHEL UK TOUR STARTS TODAY...WIN CD) we asked you tell us what were the eleven songs that Danny Michel covered on Loving The Alien.

Bowie Biggest Influence On Secret Machines

I'm stuck with a valuable friend...

David Bowie has long sung the praises of Secret Machines, from a journal entry way back in October of 2004 and as recently as November last year (11.17.05 NEWS: THE DAVID BOWIE NYC GIG GUIDE) when he had this to say about them:

"The great news this week is that The Secret Machines have finished their new album and I hope to get a copy shortly. This maybe my band for 2006. You've read it here, Sunshine. They will be playing Webster Hall on Dec 1st. Be there or be square."

Of course, that new album, Ten Silver Drops, has been available via iTunes since February 27th and has a general release date of April 24th/25th. Those of you who have already downloaded the album will know that David's love of the band is fully justified. It's another cracker.

Anyway, front man Brandon Curtis has returned the compliments in the current issue of NME (18 MARCH 2006). In the magazine's regular The Recommender feature, he has this to say about our man:

"I love the candour and sense of humour of David Bowie, and his ability to transmigrate souls within a few years. I love the way he morphs but always stays truthful and never tells you what he's thinking."

Couldn't agree more Brandon, I've been complimenting David on his superb transmigrating abilities for years now.

Five More Signed Sm Poster Winners!

We've got five more, what a surprise...

It seems David has signed a few more of the Serious Moonlight promotional prints than we requested...which is very nice of him and pretty cool for five of you.

You may remember that we asked for ten live tracks that were released on either the A or B side of David Bowie's 7" releases over the years. We did specifically ask for David Bowie recordings, but being the reasonable sorts that we are, we did accept Tin Machine titles too.

Here's a list of nineteen songs that I reckon fit the bill, with the date they were originally released. I didn't include re-issues for obvious reasons.

1974
Knock On Wood
Panic In Detroit
Changes
Rock 'N Roll With Me
1975
Suffragette City
1978
Breaking Glass
Art Decade
Ziggy Stardust
Blackout
Soul Love
1983
Modern Love
White Light White Heat
Cracked Actor
1989
Baby Can Dance
Tin Machine
Maggie's Farm
1994
Waiting For The Man (Santa Monica 7" also included Ziggy Stardust)
1996
The Man Who Sold The World
2000
Seven

Please let me know if you feel I have omitted anything. I know a fair few of you included Star, but as far as I am aware that was only released on a US promotional only white vinyl 12"...not 7".

We announced the original ten winners a couple of days ago, (03.13.2006 NEWS: SM DVD OUT NOW...POSTER WINNERS AND DVD COMP) but here are the five extra BowieNetters whose day The Random Generator has brightened:

cronos
heelheadover
iamadj
pluto
riskitall

If you people could please send me your real name and address, we'll have your prize to you pronto. Good eh?

Danny Michel Uk Tour Starts Today...win Cd

Watching them come and go...

Under the banner: Canada's coming for tea, Danny Michel is joined by fellow Canadians, Lindy and Bob Kemmis, for a two-week UK tour.

Kicking off at the Joogleberry Playhouse in Brighton tonight, here's the full list of confirmed shows currently listed:

Mar 14 Brighton, Joogleberry Playhouse
Mar 15 London, 12 Bar
Mar 16 Carlisle, Essen
Mar 17 Glossop, The Moon & Sixpence
Mar 18 Oxford, Jericho Tavern
Mar 19 Oxford, Port Mahon
Mar 20 Manchester, Briton's Protection
Mar 21 London, The Borderline
Mar 22 Swindon, The Beehive
Mar 23 Bath, Porter Cellar
Mar 24 Charlbury, The Bell Inn
Mar 25 Northampton, The Victoria Inn
Mar 27 Hempstead (20min from Saffron Walden), The Bluebell Inn

I'm sure some of you outside of Canada may be thinking: "Danny who?". But, for those not already aware of it, Danny released an 11-track CD of his interpretations of his favourite Bowie songs entitled Loving The Alien a little while back.

It's a great album that makes it clear just how much Danny values the songwriting of David Bowie. The CD isn't actually that easy to track down now, but we've got ten copies to give away here on BowieNet.

The contest closes at 10:00am UK time Saturday and we'll announce the winners before lunch so we can get the CDs in the post the same morning to hopefully give any UK winners the chance to hear the CD before they see Danny.

For this reason, please include your name and address with your entry so we don't have to wait for your response.

Now, all you have to do is tell me what were the eleven songs that Danny covered on Loving The Alien, and send your answers to me here.

Usual rules apply: Only one entry per BowieNet account. Also, please remember you must enter using your BowieNet e-mail or at least supply your BowieNet user name. You may get a message to verify your e-mail as I have utilised the BowieNet anti-spam filter, which works wonders and has actually changed my life...a bit.

Sm Dvd Out Now...poster Winners And Dvd Comp

You know I had, A great big hat...

To celebrate the release today of the above long-awaited Serious Moonlight DVD, we have ten of the sexy things to give away.

But first, you probably want to know the names of the ten winners of our last competition to win signed-by-David Bowie copies of the Serious Moonlight promotional print, the design of which is based on the cover of the DVD. (02.24.2006 NEWS: SM EP IN I-TUNES TOP 20...WIN SIGNED SM POSTER)

We asked for ten live tracks that were released on either the A or B side of David Bowie's 7" releases over the years. We did specifically ask for David Bowie recordings, but being the reasonable sorts that we are, we did accept Tin Machine titles too.

Anyway, the great majority of you seemed to find ten or more songs with ease, but here are the BowieNetters that The Random Generator shined favourably upon:

avogadro
challe
hartgelach
marcbolan
peterjw
pooky
ragazzosolo
rheingold
sinj3
ziggystargirl

If you guys could please send me your real name and address, we'll have your prize to you pronto.

On to the Serious Moonlight DVD contest. (Please note these are Region 0 PAL format DVDs)

This one's easy enough. We stumbled upon an absolutely gigantic hat in the BowieNet offices recently, and while we pondered what to do with it, some bright spark hit upon the idea of putting names in it!

Until now we couldn't think of just what names to put in it, but it soon became apparent that this new contest presented an ideal opportunity to create a hat fairly brimming with names!

So, you simply have to send THREE bits of info to be in with a chance of winning a copy of the DVD: Send your NAME, ADDRESS and BOWIENET USERNAME to me here.

OK, that's THREE things to guarantee automatic entry. No more, no less. We've estimated that the hat will be filled to the brim by midnight UK time on Sunday evening, when further names will be refused hat entry. We'll post the winners' DVDs out on Monday morning to the addresses supplied.

FOOTNOTE: In a bizarre coincidence, David Bowie often wore a hat on The Serious Moonlight Tour!

Mick Rock Exhibition In Berlin Next Month

Look in his eyes and see your reflection...

To celebrate the German publication of David Bowie and Mick Rock's Moonage Daydream book by Schwarzkopf and Schwarzkopf, there will be an exhibition of Mr Rock's best Bowie pix (along with several other of his iconic shots of other pop tarts) at The Berlin Rock Photo Gallery from Saturday April 1st.

Apparently Mick, who tells me the exhibition will definitely be Bowiecentric, will be present to sign stuff and have a natter. He will be making other appearances during his Berlin sojourn, more details of which we'll give you nearer the time.

Thanks to BowieNetter Bianca for the original pointer to this item.

New Iggy Book Plus Best Live With Db 1977 Cds

I'm back on the line...

News has reached us of a couple of Iggy Pop things that may interest BowieNetters. First up, the above tome is an attempt to create the most comprehensive Iggy Pop reference book by author Richard Adams. And for those of you thinking it's a long way from rabbits to rock stars...he's not that author!

Apparently, The Complete Iggy Pop was officially published last Friday, March 3rd, through Reynolds and Hearn, though I've not managed to find a copy yet.

I asked Richard about the format of the book:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a straightforward chronological book split into chapters corresponding with each year. Within each chapter are details on all recordings made, songs released, every tour and songs performed. I don't subscribe to the oft-repeated-in-the-press notion that everything the Stooges did was amazing and everything Iggy's done since 1977 is worthless. I've concentrated on the facts and tried to cover all songs and albums objectively and fairly.

Along the way I've unearthed all sorts of snippets of information that I'd never heard / read / seen before. So hopefully most Iggy fans, even the most die-hard, will find something new in the book. It's the most complete portrait of Iggy's life and work that I've ever seen, and, as I had hoped, it has ended up as exactly the sort of book I'd always wanted to read about Iggy.

There are a few pages of pictures in the middle, including one of Bowie with Iggy onstage circa 1985/86 playing an impromptu version of "China Girl" in New York.

(Blam note: It was the China Club in 1986)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are a couple of edited excerpts from the two albums released in that magnificently productive year of 1977...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mass Production (The Idiot)
From the factory sounds of the long fade in via the wonky synthesized middle section to the foghorn like blasts at the song's end, this track is unlike any other Iggy song. The song, which was the last to be finished, arose from a dinner conversation during which Iggy recalled that parts of Berlin reminded him of the bleak and nightmarish industrial nature of his home state. The lyrics reflect the despairing music, with the suicidal line 'though I try to die, you put me back on the line' being one of the more disturbing.

This massive slice of Germanic rock is simply one of the best and most under-rated tracks that both Bowie and Pop have ever been involved in. This track, more than any other on The Idiot points the way forward to Joy Division, Gary Numan and the doomy side of the European new wave. The Idiot and Low especially influenced Joy Division. They were originally called Warsaw, taking their name from the Bowie track (Warszawa) on Low rather than directly from the Polish capital. And when Ian Curtis was found hanging, the record still spinning on his turntable was The Idiot.

Tonight (Lust For Life)
The dramatic opening of this song finds Iggy histrionically crying about his girlfriend's overdose - 'she was turning blue' - backed by the massed choir of Bowie and the Sales' brothers. It's rather archly clever, taking it's cue from those 60's songs with spoken interludes such as "Leader Of The Pack" but setting it firmly in the squalor of junkiedom. Then, somewhat at odds with the intro, the main part of the song is one of Bowie's most obvious and straightforward romantic melodies.

Without the OD intro "Tonight" can be seen as a gorgeous love song. This was how Bowie interpreted it on his 1984 cover version.

The original boasts a classy arrangement with Bowie's swirling synths to the fore and some excellent guitar from Ricky Gardiner. But it's Iggy's assured vocal delivery, a passable impression of Bowie's rich "Wild Is The Wind" croon, which really carries the song. There's also David and Hunt's wailing backing vocals and the result is one of the most un-Iggy like tracks recorded so far in his career. But, by going against expectation, and also by going totally straight after the overblown intro, it works beautifully.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speaking of Iggy Pop in 1977, I've had a few e-mails asking about the above item, the recently released Lust For Live 1977, and if it's the best available live recording of Iggy Pop and David Bowie's performances together on The Idiot tour. In a word, no.

Here's the tracklisting:

01 Iggy speaks - Jim Morrison
02 Lust For Life - Live 1977
03 Iggy speaks - The Passenger
04 The Passenger - Live 1977
05 Iggy speaks - Mutual Bowie
06 Gloria - Live 1977
07 Iggy speaks - Mohammed Ali
08 Modern Guy- Live 1977
09 Iggy speaks - Record company
10 I've Gotta Right - Live 1977
11 Iggy speaks - I've broke a bottle
12 Fall In Love With Me - Live 1977
13 Neighbourhood Threat - Live 1977
14 Iggy speaks - I want to be something more
15 TV Eye - Live 1977
16 Raw Power - Live 1977
17 Nightclubbing - Live 1977

To be honest, it's a pretty shabby affair. Interspersed with poor quality snippets of interview from around 1979. Apparently the live tracks are taken from both 1977 tours, The Idiot (with DB) and Lust For Life shows at Manchester's Apollo in the UK, though it's hard to spot any Bowie. Best avoided altogether, imho.

If the four live Iggy/Bowie tracks on the official live release from The Idiot tour, TV Eye Live, aren't enough for you, then you may want to check out of the following...

Sister Midnight/Suck On This tracklisting:

01 Raw power
02 1969
03 Turn Blue
04 Sister Midnight
05 I Need Somebody
06 Search 'n' Destroy
07 TV Eye
08 Dirt
09 Funtime
10 Gimme Danger
11 No Fun
12 I Wanna Be Your Dog

This 52 minute set was recorded on March 21,1977 at the Agora Ballroom. Cleveland, Ohio...and it's a cracker. The band personnel at this point was: Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Ricky Gardiner, Hunt Sales and Tony Sales...and what a band!

This set has been released a few times... Suck On This on Revenge and Sister Midnight on Cleopatra. Suck On This was re-issued with the same cover but retitled as Wild Animal, also on Revenge.

Finally, if you want to hear an interview with Iggy just prior to the release of The Idiot, check out Marc Riley's listen again feature for his MINT programme. Fast Forward to around 1 hour 6 mins to hear it, along with two classics from The Idiot, Baby and Sister Midnight.

Forthcoming Ziggy Dvd Best Avoided, Imho

He could leave 'em to hang...

Speaking of poorly-researched, copy and paste jobs with the same old talking heads spouting forth, (Yes, last night's Kings of Glam was a bit of a disappointment!) the latest Bowie-related release in a long line of DVDs from the people who brought us Inside David Bowie and the Spiders 1969-1974 2 DVD AND BOOK SET, (not to mention myriad similar "Independent Critical Guides") is set for a March 27th release.

This latest DVD is entitled David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, and at least the publishers attempt a warning of sorts with this disclaimer: "To ensure editorial control, the film is totally unauthorized and has not been authorized or approved by past or present members or management of the band."

"To ensure editorial control" basically means that under the guise of a "Critical Guide" these people can use snippets of footage and pictures with no regard for quality. To stay within legal guidelines, this means they can only use highlights of tracks.

Indeed, one of the previous releases I had the misfortune to sit through, actually used Bowie tribute outfit The Bowie Experience for part of the soundtrack. Obviously, I've absolutely nothing against Laurence and his boys, but it's possibly not quite what you're expecting when you purchase such a title.

I wouldn't normally even highlight this kind of release, but I know a number of you have been caught out in the past with DVDs from this company following the same format. Of course, these opinions are mine and you're free to make up your own minds, but just don't say you weren't warned.

Kings Of Glam

KINGS OF GLAM ? BILLING AND PRESS SUMMARY

BBC One ? Friday, March 3rd 10.35pm

?Kings of Glam? profiles the leading men (and one ballsy woman) behind many of the greatest Glam classics. Liza Tarbuck tells the story of MARC BOLAN, DAVID BOWIE, NODDY HOLDER, BRYAN FERRY, ELTON JOHN and SUZI QUATRO.

With a feast of glittering archive and a soundtrack of songs that remain some of pop?s most foot-stomping anthems, the programme celebrates one of the most colourful eras in British pop music.

The early 70s British music scene saw the discovery of a new teenage audience. The kids had had enough of the hippy, peace-loving musical brigade: they wanted their own style of music ? something they could dance to, something they could stomp to, and they wanted to see their pop stars having fun. More than just a style of music, Glam was an entire art form in and of itself ? the visual performance was every bit as enjoyable and evocative as the sound.

These rising stars had no intention of leading pedestrian lives: they wanted to be special, and escape the suburban life which was the lot of their peers. With a new freedom of sexuality in the air, it was time to dip into the dressing up box and indulge in some serious dabbling between the sexes. The boys were wearing make-up, and one woman in particular was proving that she could rock with the best of them.

Glam was simple, flash and throw-away?and from 1971 to 1975 it injected more fun into the pop mainstream than people knew what to do with.

The programme includes interviews with Noddy Holder & Suzi Quatro, fans Vic Reeves, Marc Almond, Kiki Dee & Alice Cooper and industry insiders including producer Tony Visconti, songwriter Mike Chapman & photographer Mick Rock.

New Official David Bowie Ringtones Available Now

So when you gonna phone me?

The April issues (April for goodness sake? ...we're barely out of February!) of MOJO and UNCUT magazines in the UK are carrying the above advert for the forthcoming Serious Moonlight DVD release on Monday, March 13th.

The modern kidz among you will be pleased to learn that the ad carries a number (for the UK only I guess) for official David Bowie ringtones. To get yours, you apparently need to: text BOWIE SHOP to 84477. What happens next is a mystery to me!

Meanwhile, don't forget our current competition to win one of ten signed-by-David Bowie copies of the Serious Moonlight promotional print that we told you about last week. (02.24.06 NEWS: SM EP IN I-TUNES TOP 20...WIN SIGNED SM POSTER)

Don't panic if you haven't seen it yet, it's open until midnight UK time on Friday, March 10th, though it does seem to be a pretty popular contest so far.

Sm Ep In I-tunes Top 20...win Signed Sm Poster

I asked for an autograph...(And I got ten!)

To celebrate the entry of the Serious Moonlight EP into the top 20 of the iTunes UK album chart we are pleased to announce that we have ten signed-by-David Bowie copies of the A3 (420mm x 297mm) Serious Moonlight promotional print (above left) to give away.

Printed to promote the forthcoming DVD release on March 13th, this replica poster is obviously an instant collectors item anyway, and with David Bowie's signature even more so.

Both of David Bowie's most recent official releases, the Serious Moonlight EP and the Live At Fashion Rocks EP have charted on iTunes, and it seems the people buying these recordings are also buying Arctic Monkeys and their ilk. Proving that when new releases are made available to them, the kids want a bit of DB too...or something like that.

I digress. My point is that the last two releases from David Bowie have been live recordings made available as downloads only, as is the modern way. However, for this contest I thought it would be lovely to get all nostalgic and old fashioned.

What I want from you is a list of ten songs that David Bowie has released live versions of over the years, but only ones that have appeared on those 7" bits of plastic that they used to make before this fangled mp3 malarkey.

So that's the only criteria: ten live recordings that must have appeared on an official 7" David Bowie release. Releases from any country count and you can include A and B sides...there are actually more than ten, but ten is all I need to make ten BowieNetters winners.

Send your answer to me here.

Usual rules apply: Only one entry per BowieNet account. Also, please remember you must enter using your BowieNet e-mail or at least supply your BowieNet user name. You may get a message to verify your e-mail as I have finally employed one of those anti-spam filters.

The competition ends at midnight UK time on Friday March 10th to give plenty of time to those of you that need to look around the web for your answers. (Though I'm sure the majority of you will know these off the top of your heads!) We'll announce the winners shortly thereafter. Good luck, kidz!

16 Kid Creole And The Coconuts - Que Pasa/Me No Pop I
17 Working Week - Venceremos - We Will Win
18 Ce Ce Rogers - Someday

A fine compilation I'm sure you'll agree...but IMHO, not quite as good as this next one from EMI due on May 1st...

Nick Rhodes & John Taylor Present: Only After Dark (EMI 356 0762) is a wonderful collection of songs typical of some of the DJ sets that Duran Duran keyboard man, Nick Rhodes, would present at the Rum Runner club in Birmingham in the UK. The club was the midlands equivalent to London's Billy's and Blitz clubs where Bowie Nights slowly evolved into the New Romantics movement, all well documented in aforementioned Robert Elms' book.

Taking it's name from the Mick Ronson track of the same name (later re-recorded to brilliant effect by The Human League) Only After Dark comprises the following 18 pieces of pop perfection:

01 Human League ? Being Boiled (Fast version) (3.39)
02 Yellow Magic Orchestra - Computer Games (3.32)
03 David Bowie ? Always Crashing In The Same Car (3.29)
04 Psychedelic Furs ? Sister Europe (5.38)
05 Simple Minds ? Changeling (4.11)
06 Mick Ronson ? Only After Dark (3.30)
07 John Foxx ? Underpass (3.53)
08 The Normal ? Warm Leatherette (3.22)
09 Bryan Ferry ? In Crowd (4.33)
10 Brian Eno ? The True Wheel (5.11)
11 Tubeway Army ? "Are Friends Electric?" (5.17)
12 Kraftwerk ? The Robots (single edit) (3.45)
13 Donna Summer ? I Feel Love (3.48)
14 Wire ? I Am The Fly (3.06)
15 Magazine ? Shot By Both Sides (3.57)
16 Grace Jones - Private Life (5.11)
17 Iggy Pop ? The Passenger (4.41)
18 Ultravox ? Slow Motion (3.29)

Here's a couple of quotations from the compilers of Only After Dark:

"By putting together this album our intention is to introduce songs by artists who influenced us, as we were developing our own sound, this was the backdrop. John Foxx?s Ultravox in particular were important as they were the first to fuse punk with synthesizers and there was a new kind of groove creeping in there too. Bands were moving ever closer to the dance floor." - Nick Rhodes

"The gender identity thing was going on around the music: boys looking like girls; girls looking like boys. Everything was in a state of transition. Punk was a drug that everybody had taken and we were all wide awake - eyes dilated and pores open. You?re as high as a kite because your senses are alive and you?re turned on - it?s that moment of possibility which we've tried to bring to life again on this album." - John Taylor

Well, I think you succeeded, John. Despite owning all these tracks anyway, (sadly, several times in most cases!) I've had this CD on repeat in the car over the last week. Kids today, eh? Don't know quite what they missed. Anyway...

This isn't the first time that Nick and John have revisited the Rum Runner. Back in 2001/02 they streamed a three part online playlist that recreated a typical set from 1980. At least twenty per cent of the music was either Bowie releases or Bowie related...check it out here.

Of course, none of this is a surprise to regular visitors to these pages. Duran Duran have always made it quite clear just how important David Bowie's influence on them and the burgeoning New Romantic scene was. (12.12.2005 NEWS: HOW DAVID BOWIE HELPED TO FORM DURAN DURAN)

The Prestige Due For Autumn Release

In this age of grand illusion...

Touchstone Pictures today announced that they will release The Prestige (The film we told you about back in November of last year: 11.21.05 NEWS: DB CONFIRMS ROLE AS NIKOLA TESLA IN THE PRESTIGE) on October 20th, 2006.

The Christopher Nolan film stars David Bowie, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Piper Perabo, Andy Serkis and Ezra Buzzington. (See full credits here)

Bale and Jackman will play rival magicians in turn-of-the-century London who battle each other for trade secrets. Here's a bit from the synopsis of Christopher Priest's book:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 1878, two young stage illusionists, the aristocratic Rupert Angier and the working-class Alfred Borden, clash in the dark during the course of a fraudulent seance. From that moment on, they engage in a bitter and deadly feud and vie to outwit and destroy one another.

Working in the gaslight-and-velvet world of Victorian music halls, both men prowl edgily in the background of each other's shadowy life, driven to the extremes by a deadly combination of obsessive secrecy and insatiable curiosity. At the heart of the row is an amazing illusion they both perform during their stage acts. The secret of the magic is simple, but both have something more to hide than the mere workings of a trick.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Apparently the title refers to the residue left after a magician's successful trick.

David Brighton Interviews Ken Scott

Questioning saint-like and fantastic heroes...

David Brighton of the David Bowie tribute band, Space Oddity, has been in touch with details of an interview he recently conducted with legendary record producer, Ken Scott.

Entitled The Punk Meets The Godfather (a pun on Beat Godfather Meets Glitter Mainman, a two-way Rolling Stone interview between David Bowie and William Burroughs from 1974) it's a great read which can be reached by clicking on the image of Ken and David above.

Here's a couple of excerpts to give you a flavour just in case you're a bit nervous about reading the whole thing in one great big chunk...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DB: Some artists can be pretty intense during the recording process. Can you share with us how Bowie and the various Spiders carried themselves in the studio - and given their various personalities and temperaments, what kind of challenges you faced in drawing the best performances out of them?

KS: Working with the right team makes any producer/engineer's life easy. We had fun. We quickly learned each others strengths and weaknesses and from there we could let it all happen. Let's face it, when you have a vocalist like "one take" Bowie and a guitarist like Ronno how hard can it be? Then add Woody and Trevor to the mix. Fun, fun, fun.

DB: Did you give Bowie much input on how he might best approach a particular vocal in the studio?

KS: Are you f*%@ing kidding? Why would I do that?

DB: Bowie was playing the role of the 'wild mutation' during the years you worked with him. Did any of his much publicized personal eccentricities enter in at all during in your experiences working with him? Or was it purely a musical experience?

KS: Personal eccentricities? We're Brits. Eccentricities are our life blood! Seriously though, the answer to the question is a big fat "No". Professional through and through. We were all there with one purpose in mind. "Sex, Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll".......... came after, and only after, we completed the recording.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanx David. Meanwhile, if you thought that was actually the real DB on the right in the shot above, don't worry, you won't have been the first to have been thrown by Mr Brighton's likeness to Mr Bowie...check this out.
