The people in the picture are (from left to right), my friend Mary, me, another friend called Mary (BowieNetter Mandn) and her daughter Nicole. This is a letter I recieved from the Infectiuos Disease Associates;
The South Jersey Aids Alliance and Infectious Disease Associates of Atlantic City, New Jersey, would like to thank davidbowie.com for putting JWalkin' on the internet. Mary Durnam/Mandn and Jim Hyde/floidoip raised over $500! What a response. Overall the race raised $3,500 with more checks coming in every day. These funds will be used to provide needed services for the many HIV/AIDS clients living in Atlantic and Cape May Counties of New Jersey. A special thanks from those who will be helped, they are truly grateful for your involvement.
As many of you will already know from the MBs, BowieNetter Apalumbo has registered to take part in the Red Ribbon Ride, a three day, 300+ mile bicycle ride that will take place next July in Minnesota. Here's some info from Apalumbo, (real name Andrea Palumbo)
The ride benefits some fantastic AIDS service organizations here in Minnesota, all of which provide needed services to people living with HIV and AIDS. My fundraising goal is $1500 and I'm asking for your help. Please make a donation to help me meet my goal! Your contribution (which is tax dedectible, BTW) will fund advocacy, education and direct care services for Minnesotans affected by HIV/AIDS. You can make your donation online by visiting my personal Ride page If you would prefer to mail in a donation, you can download the form from Ride's main web page, http://www.redribbonride.org - make sure you indicate that your donation is for Rider 25 - that's me!
Thanks so much for considering making a donation - AIDS isn't over yet, and won't be for a long time, and there's still a lot of work to be done. - Andrea
Andrea's goal is to raise $1,500.00 - She's achieved 12% of the total so far, so there's a long way to go before July... Let's show how generous BowieNetters can be.
