Climbs across his bike and he's away...
You may remember a piece we ran back in 2002, when David signed a couple of guitars for the B.A.D.D. (Bikers Against Drunk Drivers) campaign. (10/26/02 NEWS: BOWIE DONATES TWO TAKAMINES TO B.A.D.D.) David has again graciously lent his name to the campaign this year, with the signing of two more guitars and a couple of motorbikes. The guitars are up on eBay right now.
Here are a few words from Danny Perkins, (who organised the signing session with David again this year) taken from the eBay description:
The Real Deal Folks!! David Bowie has been supporting B.A.D.D. Bikers Against Drunk Drivers for over 18 years and has signed two donated Takamine 12-string acoustics. David also personalized them with lyrics to Ziggy Stardust and Rock 'N' Roll Suicide.This auction is for one of the two guitars. The winner will have the choice of the two.The other guitar will be given away along with a 2004 Boss Hoss or Harley Heritage Softail that David Bowie also signed for our 2004-5 fundraising promotion.
The guitars are signed as follows : " Ziggy played guitar" Bowie 2004 and the other "Time takes a cigarette" Bowie 2004.
