Well, The Joint was rocking...
David Bowie and his band returned to The Joint in Las Vegas last night, for what sounds like a good fun night. BowieNetter NancyH was present, (as ever) and she posted a few cracking shots on the MBs, along with a few words about her evening:
Last night could not, could not have been any better in any way. Except maybe, if the band went on forever... SUCH a great vibe in the air, crowd on their feet cheering the entire night, band up to hijinx, David was a firecracker, full of chit-chat and banter and jokes and smiling all night.
Lots of crowd-pleasures in the set list, but everyone sang along to just about everything. Notice no slow numbers in there. He kept the crowd on their feet the entire night with one rocker after the next, there was no downtime. As with first Vegas, played straight through the setlist with no exit off stage for encores. 24 songs, 2 hours, it was GREAT.
That was it for me, and I'm glad, because although the LA shows kept getting impossibly better and better, there would be no topping my experience last night.
Wow, who'd have thought that after the first show. Anyway, here's the 24-song set list:

Here's a bit more from Nancy:
Very interesting and fun stage antics going on last night. Just as Ziggy ended, Gail goes off to the side and is handed a big bouquet of red roses. She runs them over to David and the entire band drops their instruments and runs over to David and cheers and does a big group hug thing, everyone in the band is doubled over in laughter.
Meanwhile, all the road crew and instrument techs rush onto the stage and take the band's place on the instruments. It was total chaotic hilarity!
Thanx for that Nancy, sounds like it was a bit of a different atmosphere to last week's show at The Joint! (01.31.2004 NEWS: LAS VEGAS PIX, SET LIST AND REVIEWS) BowieNetters can view the whole of Nancy's entry, including more pictures, by clicking on either of the above images.
