Well, perhaps I was being a little theatrical when I described Mark Radcliffe's Aladdin Sane cameo as a "completely incredible coincidence" in the story below earlier today, but you have to admit, two new Cult members on one evening's viewing is pretty impressive!

In a music-themed special edition of the sports quiz, A Question Of Sport, team captain Ally McCoist was completely thrown as to the identities of the two clowns camping it up in a hilarious re-enactment of the BBC's classic all-star promotional film of the Lou Reed hit.

All the more embarrassing for McCoist was the fact that he had spent the earlier part of the day before the taping of A Question Of Sport with Mark and Lard themselves...but still failed to recognise them!
I guess this can only be seen as a back-handed compliment to the nation's best loved Radio1 DJs, in that their transformations were so complete, it was almost impossible to tell them from the originals. No? Well perhaps not, but apart from Mark Radcliffe's Bowie (top), who could resist Mark Lard Riley as a kind of Scouser Lou Reed (above)?
