The club's booker and co-owner Owen Comaskey says he first hit upon the idea last summer. "A drummer friend of mine was playing this art exhibition opening at CBGB's," he explains. "They wanted to do Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, so they asked me to sing and Tony Barber from the Buzzcocks played bass. I think people enjoy the sense of anticipation. After Soul Love, you could see them waiting for..... (sings Moonage Daydream's, I'm An Alligator.) I thought, this is cool, maybe we should try something similar at Arlene's."
