Glasto 365

Although the official Glastonbury 2000 artist lineup and schedule announcements won't be released until May or so, the word is spreading that Bowie will play the fest for the first time in 30 years. Music365.co.uk has their own crack at the story:

Here is a clip of the article:

A source close to this year's festival said on Tuesday night (February 15) that the 53-year-old rocker - who in the last few days announced that he and his 44-year-old wife Iman are expecting their first child together - is to play the main stage on Sunday night. Rumours of Bowie's appearance at the festival have been circulating for sometime, and the star has previously dropped hints that he is interested in taking part. Bowie was one of the acts at the first Glastonbury in 1970.

This Day In Bowie History

Ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry...

Exactly one quarter of a century ago David Bowie unleashed his latest single upon an unsuspecting world. The title track from the album that was to follow in March, 'Young Americans' was the greatest shock yet for the Bowie fan who had followed David since the birth of Ziggy. This new sound, which Bowie coined his 'plastic soul' phase, was a huge departure from the previous year's 'Diamond Dogs', even though there were hints of what was to come via songs like the string-driven thing that was '1984

Rock Style

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is hosting a special Rock N' Roll/Fashion exhibit running from December 9, 1999 ? March 19, 2000

Here is what they had to say about our leader in the ways of both Rock and Style, Mr. DB:

"Superstars defined by their ability to hold a crowd in their sway appear in the third gallery, 'Brilliant Disguise.' Superstars have had a definitive impact on the creation of fashion fads and trends. David Bowie's character of Ziggy Stardust, along with the Spiders from Mars, unleashed a fashion genie that never retreated. By the early seventies, it was not enough to go onstage and just play music. Sound, lights, choreography, and, later, video became key elements of the concert experience. A performer's dress, designed as an integral part of a concert experience, can mesmerize an audience..."

CNN.com also has a feature about the exhibit. Learn more by clicking here.
