This weeks' NME features Courtney Taylor of The Dandy Warhols, describing his HEROES and VILLAINS. His five heroes - Star Trek's Spock, DAVID BOWIE, David Geffen, Superman, and Dad. Villains - Adolf Hitler, Robbie Williams, The Spanish Inquisition, Lex Luthor.
"David Bowie's a superhero because he always did it better and farther than everybody else. He always gets accused of never having done it his way; like Mick Jagger saying, 'Don't wear a new pair of shoes around David because next week when you see him he'll be wearing the exact same pair of shoes, and then he'll have his picture taken first in them.' That's what they say, which is without a doubt a kind of genius I don't seem to be able to get to happen, you know? To be that obviously self-conscious and self-aware, still be able to create really beautiful and personal music and still be dramatic...that's a toughie. And today he's just as unbelievably and irresistibly beautiful as ever."
