For Your Consideration

Oops! This one is our fault. Sorry for the late entry, but this one was just so cute, we had to post it up. The contest is officially over, but we did receive this one BEFORE the deadline.

We know it's late, but look at that face! If you do decide to vote for pFurs (Jared David) Speedo entry, just put Speedo Contest in the subject of your email. We will post the winner next week.

Rare Prints In The Gallery

Some rare prints have become available to Bowieart. David Bowie had his first group show in London at the Berkeley Square Gallery in 1994, here he exhibited some of the first Iris Prints produced in the UK.

The Minotaur was his theme, and for a limited time, Bowieart fans have the unprecedented opportunity of purchasing some of these rare prints. Medieval Minotaur showing both in the Gallery and with this update is an exquisite print in a very limited edition of 14. To the best of our knowledge these are the last remaining prints from this series.

The Hunger On Showcase

The classic horror film "The Hunger" airs on May 24, 1999 on the Showcase Network, USA Synopsis:Miriam and John Blaylock are young, beautiful... and hungry. An eternal couple, sensual and irresistible. CATHERINE DENEUVE is Miriam, the icy beauty whose mystery was born in the waters of ancient Egypt. The legendary rock star DAVID BOWIE is John, her lover through the centuries, a man who shares Miriam's secrets until he inexplicably begins aging at an accelerated pace. SUSAN SARANDON plays the brilliant scientist who tries to treat the supernatural - until she too is caught in the timeless web of blood and passion - The Hunger. Set in a very chic, very modern Manhattan, The Hunger weaves a thrilling tale of gothic horror. Yet it is more than a spine-chilling scare. The Hunger is also an astonishing spectacle of illusion, a lyrical triumph that moves effortlessly from the sounds of city traffic to the awesome depths of hell. Masterfully directed by TONY SCOTT, The Hunger is a breathtaking combination of swirling color, provocative acting and horrifying suspense.

Pennebaker Interview

The films of D.A. Pennebaker have left an indelible mark on pop and rock.Filmmakers D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus have worked with artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, The Who, and Bowie, just to name a few. Pennebaker filmed the Bowie Classic "Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars: The Motion Picture" which commemorated Bowie's farewell to Ziggy tour of 1973. In a recent article promoting a new Hendrix project, Pennybaker talks about the making of the Ziggy film and working with Bowie. Here is an excerpt:Q: Why did you film Bowie's last Ziggy Stardust concert?A: Pennebaker: Well, he is incredible to watch. I mean, I could see myself getting a hard-on just looking at him sometimes, which is ridiculous. But I think that the reason we made it was because RCA said, we have this guy and he's going to do a concert, maybe the last one he's going to do, and you've got to go make a film.
