World Aids Day

Queen, David Bowie and Microsoft raise funds in a three-way collaboration to fight AIDS

The newly created video for the Queen/David Bowie collaboration 'Under Pressure 1999 Rah Mix' reported in these pages last month is available for download for two weeks from today right here to mark World AIDS day.

David has always been most vocal in his support for the AIDS charities, and visitors to the download can contribute in their own way by making a donation while at the site. Please also visit the site for the UN Aids Message for 1999.

Below are just a few of the more depressing facts posted at the site:

The total number of adults and children living with HIV and AIDS now exceeds 34 million worldwide

43% of those are women

33% of them are between 15 and 24 years old

In 1998 nearly 3 million children became affected with the HIV virus

By 1998 8.2 million children under 15 had seen their mothers die of AIDS
