JANUARY
Happy 56th birthday dear David :-) Two new journals.  New David asks. David is nominated for a grammy award for his vocal performance of 'Slow Burn'.  David is nominated for a place in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. 'Music Week'  quote David as the 20th highest selling UK artist of 2002. BowieNet sells Tibet Benefit Concert tickets to members and the VIP auctions continue on ebay.   Lou Reed's 'The Raven' is released and he joins the Tibet benefit line-up. The A&E db Biography DVD is released. The remastered Ziggy  'Motion Picture' formats are revealed. David's  'Parkinson' interview is aired by BBCA and BBC2 show 'Ashes to Ashes' onTOTP2 David is interviewed in 'Q's 200th edition.  'Starman' is featured in  'Q's '100 Songs That Changed The World' magazine special. Mojo features George Underwood's Ziggy badge sets. Uncut is to feature the Ziggy/Aladdin Sane period. Read David's stars in the January edition of 'Horoscope'. Iman is in 'V' magazine. FEBRUARY 
EIGHT new journals. David gives us an exclusive Tibet rehearsal shot.  Two new AskDavids. David performs at the 2003 Tibet Benefit Concert (see March news) and BowieNet holds a pre-concert party. David and Iman attend the AMFAR awards and David attends the 2003 MusiCares Person of The Year event. The 2002 Berlin concert  is aired by the SAT1 channel. 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' Special Edition region 1 double DVD is released.  The superbit  'Labyrinth' and 'Absolute Beginners' region 1 DVD's are ready to pre-order.. Blammo gives us the BOB DVD  'easter egg' hidden extras in full. The dj dance mix of  'Everyone Says 'Hi' and 'Gemini Spaceship' hits the Billboard charts. 'The Brian Eno Story' is aired on BBC Radio 2 and includes a db contribution. Uncut has a 21 page Ziggy Stardust/Aladdin Sane special with cover CD. David and Iman are in Vogue magazine. Iman is interviewed on BBC Radio 4 and GMTV - read the transcript. The Beckenham bash raises $1707 for charity. The withdrawn 'Diamond Dogs' sleeve sells for $3,550 on ebaY. Ziggy graces the cover of a Readers Digest 20th Century volume. Blammo's pic of db, Mark and Lard is in the 'Independent'. Happy birthday to George Underwood. More pieces are added to the 'Up The Hill Backwards' art exhibition. The BowieNet/ebaY auctions are soon to be resurrected. MARCH 
Two new journals. We have lovely photos and reviews of David's performance at the Tibet Benefit Concert.  Read David's post-show message thread :). David donates an exclusive track to the 'War Child' album 'Hope:-  the Metro remix of 'Everyone Says 'Hi''.   'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars' special edition DVD, double CD and limited edition vinyl are released David co-writes a song for Earl Slick's new album 'Newfs' (working title). David writes the foreword to a new book of db photos by Myriam Santos-Kayda (BowieNetter Mask).  David donates '1984' to 'Artists for Literacy' and it is included on 'The Songs Inspired By Literature - Chapter 2' CD.  The 30th anniversary edition  'Aladdin Sane' CD track listing is revealed. BowieNet presents a new special feature - db at the Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards - watch David's moving performance of 'Wild Is The Wind' and 'Life On Mars'? from 2000. David is voted no.1 live act, no.3 solo artist, no.3 website and no.5 album in the Musikespress readers poll.  David has 3 albums in the NME all time top 100. Iman is interviewed in 'OK' mag. The BNet/ebaY auctions resume with a genuine 'Outside' tour stage prop. Tony Visconti and DA Pennebaker will attend the NY MTR screening of 'Ziggy Stardust - The Motion Picture' - win tickets. TOTP's2 airs  'Changes' (from ZS-TMP). VH1 has a Bowie evening.  'Everyone Says 'Hi'' is included in the new Playstation 2 game 'Amplitude'.  The 'Ziggy Stardust' album is featured in 'Classic Rock's 'greatest concept albums ever'.  Dotmusic selects David for it's first 'classic artist' feature.  David is askmen.com's  'Man of The Week'. APRIL 
Happy 11th wedding anniversary to Iman and David. Five new journals. The War Child 'Hope' and 'Peace Songs' Cd's are released and contain the 'Everyone Says 'Hi'' Metro Mix. BowieNet presents David's A&E 'Live By Request' performance for viewing. Duncan Jones gives us some news on his  'Whistle' film,  which is shown in Luxembourg and Amsterdam.  David and Iman attend Liv Tyler & Royston Langdon's vow renewal ceremony and also attend the Goddess Gala in NY. David gives us a few words about both events - check out the lovely new photos.  'David Bowie Live In New York' is the title chosen for Mask's db book and the prizes will be signed by db, Mask and Rex. Vogue magazine has a db special:- Kate Moss models some of David's 70's wardrobe and there is email correspondence between db and Hedi Slimane. David highlights 'The Undesirables' art piece in the Observers guide to the new Saatchi gallery. There is news of forthcoming mid-price and deluxe versions of the 'Outside', 'Earthling', and 'Hours', CD's. The BowieNet/ebaY auctions continue with goodies from the MTR db career retrospective exhibition. Tony Visconti and Rex Ray donate items signed by themselves and db, for a BNetter's charity walk.  db is to record a track for  Anthony Newley's tribute album -  Blammo's April fool hoot. The April edition of the Voyeur is out and there is a new fan publication called 'David Robert Jones - 1947 -1961'.  The 'David Bowie - Live in New York'  signed book and print winners and the signed 'Heathen' promo winners are announced.




MAY 
David writes a new BowieNet welcome message. The 30th anniversary 'Aladdin Sane' double CD is released - read the press release. David and Iman attend the Tribute to Susan Sarandon, the Vanity Fair Tribeca party and the Beckhams' dinner function - David writes a piece about all three events.  'Hollywood Rocks The Movies: The 1970's (AMC), hosted and narrated by db wins a Daytime Emmy Award and Iman picks up an award at the 25th Annual Outstanding Mother Awards Luncheon. BowieNet has an exclusive preview clip of 'The Mayor of Sunset Strip' film. There is news of some forthcoming EMI db remixes - starting  with 'Let's Dance'. David is featured in 'Blender' mag - there is a new studio photo and quotes from David on his 'thrusty' new album. Kristeen Young's 'Saviour' is re-recorded (with db) making the original promo version a rarity. The final two Mick Rock/MTR items are up for auction and Mick Rock shares his 'Life On Mars?' shoot memories. Lou Reed's 'NYC Man - The Ultimate Lou Reed Collection' double CD is released - BNet has a Lou interview exclusive and he donates 5 signed CD's for a BNet comp. David's 'Blue Jean' boiler suit is up for grabs at the 'Contemporary Wardrobe Collection Sale of the 21st Century'.  The Playstation 2 game 'Amplitude' is released - remix 'Everyone Says 'Hi'.  David's Oct 2002 'Late Night with Conan O'Brien' performance is re-created using clay animation for a special episode. The 'Full Throttle' CD featuring the re-recorded 'Rebel Rebel' is due for release in June. The Ziggy Stardust Motion Picture DVD continues to receive great reviews. Cex re-create the 'Heroes' sleeve and Rjyan Kidwell writes a piece for BowieNet. There is news of Kristeen Young and Gail Ann Dorsey gigs. Check out the new 'Trivia Pool' feature. Blammo lists four new releases with db links. There are two db/Lou Reed fan nights in Italy. JUNE 
Happy 11th wedding anniversary to David and Iman. The 'A Reality Tour' world tour is officially announced and the European dates are published.  BowieNet obtains pre-sale show tickets for members plus VIP and travel packages. Two main pre-sales are held.  Manchester, Wembley, Birmingham and Dublin all sell out fast.  Extra shows are added due to the ticket frenzy and BNet receives a ticket allocation. 
 David participates in a transatlantic telephone conversation with Dominic Mohan live on Virgin Radio and announces the title of his new album, 'Reality'. He elaborates on part of the interview for BNet news and the Virgin transcript is posted. David contributes the cover quote (and more) to the new Jake Arnott novel - 'truecrime'.  David compiles his ultimate 'Space-Is-The-Place' mix tape for Nylon mag. The 3CD  'Black Tie White Noise' ltd edition tracklisting & release details are revealed. The  'Full Throttle' CD is released featuring the re-recorded 'Rebel Rebel'. The David Guetta vs Bowie -  'Just for One Day ( 'Heroes)' 12" remix is released. Tony Visconti sends in some great shots of David in 'disguise'. Tony's website is updated and includes a report on the recording of David's new album.  Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture is to be screened in London on the 30th anniversary of the show. Purchase a signed print of David' s 'Self Portrait (Mustique') over at Bowieart.com. EMI look to release a 4 CD version of the 'Sound and Vision' box set. Mike Garson joins BowieNet chat. Pre-order Mask's book. There is a joint db/Placebo fan gathering in Vicenta. Kristeen Young performs at Camden. Grandaddy appear at Virgin. JULY 
Happy Birthday to Iman.  New journal entry. BowieNet proudly presents the 'Reality' CD artwork and tracklisting.  'New Killer Star' is to be the first single release - BNet reveals the sleeve. The 'A Reality Tour' and album press release is issued. The 'Reality Jukebox' is launched with a 'Reality'  EPK, audio snippets, the Vittel ad and e-team registration details.  Glasgow is added to the tour and sells out in 90 mins.  A second Dublin date is also added and sells out in record time -  BNet receives a members ticket allocation for both shows. David is to perform live via satellite for the Prince's Trust - 'Fashion Rocks' event. David is the cover star for 'Complex', 'Soma' and 'Filter' magazines and they also contain lengthy db features. David is interviewed in 'Rolling Stone' mag and there is a 23 page db special in Schnitt magazine. The 'Sound and Vision' 4 CD box set tracklisting is revealed. EMI are to release 3 Bowie SACD's on 29 Sept including a 5.1 'Ziggy Stardust'.
Rick Wakeman is interviewed on BBCR2 - read David's comments. There is a new BowieNet splash page and  tour  'e-card'. Bowieart will participate in this years Portobello Film Festival. The 30th anniversary 'Ziggy Stardust - The Motion Picture' screening takes place and Boy George is the aftershow D.J.
