FEBRUARY

The 'Survive' video is MTV Italy's no1. The Oporto film festival features db movies. Blam's Little Spot - a new feature for collectors, concentrates on the MWSTW dress cover. On this day in history - we celebrate the opening of the Ziggy UK tour (28 years ago - read David's comments), the Bowie US Tour II (Aladdin Sane -27 years ago ), the 1976 tour opening in Vancouver (24 years ago) and  the release of the 'Sound and Vision', 'Rebel Rebel', 'Young Americans',  'Alabama Song' and 'Absolute Beginners' singles.  There is a snippet from David's 1966 'Luv' ice cream commercial. 'Hours' is listed in the annual writers poll. David is hailed as the hardest working rock star in the Debenhams magazine. Hot press readers voted David at no3 best male, NME readers voted him no8 solo artist. APRIL
New journal entry. Exciting news of a new live db performance for members only. David donates his saxophone to the UK's first Instrument Amnesty. David is the 'top attraction' of the Glastonbury Festival and is to perform on the Pyramid Stage. Beatnik collaborate with BowieNet on the new V2.  BowieNet presents  ''The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell' mixer!  and supports  'Save The Children'. The  'American Psycho' soundtrack CD is released and contains the  'Something In The Air' Mark Plati remix.  The withdrawn version of the CD is offered as a BNet prize.  Beck remixes 'Seven' and it will be released in June. The new 3D Bowieworld chat arrives! Blammo previews a new book about db - 'Bowiestyle'.   Iman has a charity auction over at i-iman.com and appears on the Rosie O Donnell show and Fox News Live. David has four albums in the top 30 of Q's 100 all time top British albums.  A new soundtrack CD - 'The Filth and The Fury' - is to contain  'The Jean Genie'. David recommends the recording artist  'Gina'.  'The Last Temptation Of Christ' , 'Planet Rock Profiles', VH1 to 1,  'Airport' and 'Metropolis - The Cybertalk: David Bowie' are aired. The 'Nomad Soul' (Dreamcast) computer game is to be released in May. BowieNet moves on to a new server.  Tony Visconti,  Mike Garson and Mark Plati all perform (separately) in the US. Nine new gripping journal entries! Three new David Asks. David is to perform three concerts at the Roseland theatre in June:- one of these is to be an exclusive BowieNet performance.  The format details are revealed for the forthcoming db single 'Seven'.  The 'Music Live' event is webcast and closes with the 'Perfect Day' video. David plans a Meet and Greet event to help Children In Need.  'Record Collector' has a ten page feature on the Manish Boys. David is on the front cover of the UNIFI magazine. David sends in a Pride snippet on traditional Somali childbirth celebrations :-). Trent Rezner talks of life on tour with db. David recommends Hirotsune San, Catherine Chalmers and Derek Boshier's shows.    David Jones is the most popular male name in Britain :-)   The Glastonbury festival is to be screened live via Quicktime. The 'Rock Style' exhibition moves to Cleveland. David is spotted out on the town with Page Hamilton. The 'Live and Well' CD's are ready to go.  BNet V2 is coming:- read all about the new features. JUNE
Four new journal entries.  Two new David Asks. David performs at Roseland on the 16th and the 19th June - the 19th being a BowieNet members only  show. David unavoidably pulls out of  the show on the 17th due to laryngitis - his first cancellation in 35 years.  David performs an intimate show at the BBC Theatre and BowieNetters win tickets to attend.  David appears on Channel 4's TFI show. David headlines the Glastonbury Festival and takes it by storm:- the BBC broadcast unprecedented coverage of the event via  webcam. Read the glowing reviews and the new press release.  Blammo gives us four journal entries of his own which include shots and crummies from the Roseland rehearsals,  and reviews, photos and setlists from the Roseland, BBC and Glastonbury shows. David posts  some great crummies and band line-up shots and we hear details of their preferred equipment. The Sunday Times features db in an internet heroes piece. The Independent celebrates Bowie the icon. BowieNet has a new feature called  'Ricochet' which looks back on the 'Serious Moonlight' tour. Earl Slick accepts questions for his forthcoming website interview. Holly Palmer performs more gigs in NY.  'Black Box Recorder' cover 'Rock 'n' Roll Suicide'. The Illustrated db discography site has been updated. The Meet and Greet winners are announced and meet David backstage at Roseland.


JULY
New journal entry, New David Asks. Eight new crummies from the studio. Congratulations to db! David WINS the 'Online Pioneer' award and BowieNet WINS the 'Best Artist Website' at the Yahoo! Internet Life Online Music Awards. David performs 'Life On Mars?' and 'Wild Is The Wind at the event.  Watch the Yahoo awards db nomination video. The 'Seven' CD single is released and is David's 56th UK hit. There are 3 CD formats available complete with postcard and poster freebies. The 'Bowie At The Beeb' 3CD track listing is announced. BowieNet hosts the db 'FANMIX' and BNetters select a track mix for the BEEB Limited Edition 3rd CD. Twenty db albums are to be made available for digital download!  The BNet Roseland show is filmed by Duncan - check out the exclusive photo by Iman :-). Blammo completes his Roseland journals and gives us some amazing shots of David and the band. Time-Out features the 'Rockerfeller Diaries' - read David's entries. AUGUST
New journal entry,  Two new David asks. CONGRATULATIONS to David and Iman on the birth of their daughter, Alexandria Zahra Jones.  BowieNetters send their wishes via a BNet e-card. The American Vogue contains an article on how db has influenced the fashion of the times and Givenchy pay tribute to him in their Autumn/Winter show. Iman is in 'Allure' mag and 'US weekly'. David is to be featured in the National Portrait Gallery's  'Painting The Century' Exhibition. David  gives us a site of the month and recommends a book called 'Stoned'. David's mammoth 2 hour Halloween BNet chat is posted.  There is a new David Bowie/RCA collaboration 2000 print set available over at Bowieart.com. BowieNet presents two new Roseland 2000 clips.  David donates his 'East Side Other' photograph to a new book - 'Life's Ups & Downs' - in aid of the homeless.  David's self portrait is featured in the 'Art is Everywhere' Interview magazine calendar. David gives us a site of the month. Mick Rock releases a 'Legends of Rock' 2001 calendar - David is the featured artist for January.  The 'Music of The Millenium 2' CD is released and features 'Life on Mars?' and 'Under Pressure'.
