Help stop cruelty on Chinese fur farms
"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." ~ Ghandi
Hello, and thank you for visiting. I am not an organization, just a person who stumbled upon some information I thought was important to pass along. This web page is a compilation of information that I found on other sites to try and help the abused animals on Chinese fur farms. Right now this is just a rough draft, but I didn't want to waste any time getting this information out.
There are links at the bottom of this page to sites with more detailed information on these fur farms.
The animals on these "fur farms" live out their entire lives in cages far too small, are severely abused, and finally SKINNED ALIVE while the workers laugh at their agony. Many of them remain alive - blinking and moving around for about 10 minutes after their skin has been removed. This torture is completely unnecessary and unacceptable. The animals do not deserve to be treated this way, and we are the only ones that can help them. It sounds like a terrible nightmare, but it isn't... it's real.
DOING ALL OF THESE WILL TAKE YOU A MAXIMUM OF 5 MINUTES, COSTS NOTHING, AND COULD MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF MILLIONS OF ANIMALS!!
I am literally begging here... please help! And remember - Anything is better than nothing!
HOW TO HELP
1. I have form letters (courtesy of the Swiss Animal Protection SAP). I have already pre-addressed the letters. All you do is enter your name and address at the bottom, print, sign and mail. That's it! Here are the links.
(Form letters are just as effective as custom written ones. The recipient will notice the volume of letters on a particular topic.)
2. This link will take you to an online form, where a message will be sent to the Ministry of Agriculture of China, and/or the China Leather Industry Assoc. All you do is fill in your name, and email address, and select who you want to email to go to.
3. These links will take you to online petitions.
4. Here is a link to a form "Letter to the Editor". If you see an article in a newspaper or magazine that celebrates fur, you can modify this letter as necessary.
5. Write letters to retail establishments that sell fur and fur trimmed items. I will be putting a form letter up for convenience soon, but in the mean time, just write a courteous letter telling them how you feel about fur items.
4. Please pass this information on to others. I will update this page often with any new information I find or any that is sent to me. Feel free to forward my link to anyone you'd like. One other thing you can do is to contact your local newspapers, radio and TV stations, (email is fine) and ask them to do a story on the fur farms. I admit I've had no success with this yet, but it never hurts to try. Maybe if enough people write something will happen. Anything we can do to raise public awareness is a good thing.
Thank you!!!!!!!
