Portraits III

Welcome to the Frank Episale portrait page! This first portrait is the closest you'll find to attempted realism here. Color realism is hard to accomplish when all you have to work with is black and white photographs and verbal descriptions, and I have a vague suspicion that Frank doesn't often wear clothes of that odd pinkish-purplish-bluish shade. Well, maybe he should start. Visit him online at Frank's Foyer—and while you're there, tell him to send me some color pictures.

This is Frank Episale's face lacquered in fiery metallic red and gold, with glowing orange eyes. All of the pictures on this page were made primarily with the Lacquer plugin for Photoshop, as were a large number of my pictures in general—I really like this particular plugin. You can do so many different things with it, and with relatively little effort.

Here's spooky age-progressed mass-murderer Frank glowering at you from under his cloud of gloom. I've age-progressed several people before but never such a close-up picture. In this instance the Lacquer plugin just randomly happened across an effect which provided most of the face and gave me the idea for the picture. Then I just adjusted a few colors and declared it finished.

Oh look, it's space alien Frank! And with a distinctly Bowie-influenced taste in space suits. I adore this picture, actually: especially the strange silvery wisps of hair and the big round dark pretty eyes . . . As with all the pictures on this page, you can click the picture to see a larger version.

This is sweet demure charming pretty Frank wearing an extremely interesting outfit. I really like the colors in this picture. Oh, and the vaguely phallic-like thing in the upper right corner was entirely accidental, I assure you. Really! I suppose I could have erased it, but considering that I don't even know whose phallus it is, I feel that would be quite premature. For one thing, Frank might want it there. For another, every cute boy should at some time in his life be painted with a disembodied phallus pointing at his head.
