David Bowie as a St. Sebastian

This is a paper cutting artwork I did when I was a junior high school student.

Yes, I was a premature artist and had much more inspiration to force me to make anything that looks like Bowie than now.

This work was, in fact, greatly inspired by Belne, an illustrator that have attracted me with her glamorous idolatrization of David Bowie in her illustrations. I assume she had also tried to draw David as a St. Sebastian in one of her artworks, and it motivated me to make this one, too.

At that time I never knew anything about St. Sebastian as an icon of Christianity, but I was impressed by the beauty of Belne's drawing itself.

As I got older, I began to recognize what I had done.
