Song Writing Contest

Reward---name your price....We've been hacked!! Or how else can we explain that 8 people who entered the Cyber Song Contest received 595,937 votes and the rest of the 1000's of entrants combined don't even come close to that number. Ummm....who could have done such a dastardly deed? What possessed someone to endanger the submissions of law abiding web citizens who have spent countless hours in the creative corners of their minds composing lyrical gems?

As stated by David in today's journal "No, ballet-box stuffing, ya' hear?

People's Choice 98

11/7/98 NEWS: PEOPLE'S CHOICE 98 Dar Williams is currently running a campaign in which she is giving the voting public the opportunity to select a song for her to record. Among the electoral candidates: Bowie's Starman. The votes will be tallied and Dar will record a version of the winner! After mixing is complete, the "People's Choice" will be encoded in Liquid Audio and available for listening and downloading. The polls close on November 10th - so vote today.

Bowie On Game Soundtrack

The soundtrack to Sony Playstation's racing game "Gran Turismo (The Real Driving Simulation)" features the David Bowie track "Scary Monsters". Gran Turismo will be in stores on November 17. Other featured artists include Garbage, the Dandy Warhols, Supergrass, Blur and Ash.

11/6/98 NEWS: "EVERYBODY LOVES SUNSHINE" At the British section of the recent Tokyo Film Festival which took place 10/24, 10/31 and 11/8 "Everybody Loves Sunshine" starring Goldie was shown for the first time. Andrew Goth the film's director, writer and lead actor was mobbed by tiny girls! David had no less than 3 films in this festival: in addition to "Everybody Loves Sunshine", Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence and The man Who Fell to Earth. The rest of the films shown were relatively new releases like Wings of the Dove, Trainspotting etc
