just so...

November 05, 2008 01:44PM

wow, time flies... fast!

can't believe it is november already.

Just felt like dropping a quick thingy on here since I can't be on the boards much these days and sometimes I really miss those old times when I had time to burn (even though it did not feel like I had all that time back then...)

anyway. what happened? instead of 2 I now got 4 bunnies!!! phew! our "ladies" didn't get along with each other anymore so now we got two couples "Harry and Grigio" and "Houdini and Pinot"... and yes... the bunny-matching didn't go according to plan as you can see with the mismatched names...

other than that I had far too few live gigs this year and work is just crazy but quite fulfilling :)

miss you guys

Love,
Wine xx

Woohoo :)

I thought I wouldn't be able to do it because of a lot of work and being understaffed and such... but turn out: I'm going to see Robert Plant tonight in Amsterdam!

YAY!

Soooo happy about that! Friends are going to pick me up around 2 or 3 so just a few hours at work to get the most of my things done which means time will fly anyway.

Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy..... :)

Sunny weekend

May 11, 2008 05:06PM

This weekend has just been perfect (and looking forward to another great day tomorrow as it is a public holiday here in Germany).

Yesterday I went to some special market staged at an old castle near my friend's place. I was hoping to find something nice for mother's day other than flowers. After looking at each and every stand there seeing very nice things but nothing suitable my friends discovered another room that was kind of hidden away. And behold, there was a farmer's wife with a lot of differently flavoured oils and vinegars and jams. And we could even try and taste them all. I ended up with alba oil which I never even heard before - it is delicious and tastes very buttery), a papaya vinegar and a mango vinegar and a nice aceto balsamico. And the lady threw in a glass of jam on top! strawberry-rhubarb, which I gave to my dad since he loves jams.

My friend made a nice dinner for the rest of us and it got a bit later as I had planned but that was alright, still had enough time to put the salmon for todays mother's day lunch into the marinade.

So today I discovered that yesterday I had forgotten to take some special sized ovenproof dishes from my parents to my place - so I went there and had a small breakfast with them before I went back home preparing lunch for them. I had decided to embark on some recipes that I wanted to try but never had tested before and the result was phenomenal!
spinach-feta-cheese filling in yufka dough
salmon with sesame crust and
sweet rice gratin (with raisins, almonds, cinnamon and a sugar crust)
some light white wine and water to this and all this enjoyed on the balcony as it was a very nice and sunny day.

well, some weekends are just perfect :)
hope you had a very enjoyable weekend as well :)

W. xx
