My 10th Bnet Anniversary this year!

Hi guys,

well, I thought as I wasn't very present at all the whole week, even though I've been MOTW, Id try at least to post something on the last day of my reign, and reflect a little about the past 10 years of my membership - cause I just realized that it's indeed my 10th year anniversary one of these days!

I remember when Bnet first started I had a look at it now and then in some internet cafes in the end of 1998...and finally in the beginning of 1999 I bought my first computer, only for that one reason, to join BowieNet!

Back then it was my second home...if not even the first! I spent all day (or rather all night) in the chatroom, and what joy it was when Sailor himself joined in there too! We always had some sort of phone chain when that happenend, as in our time zone in Germany it was in the middle of the night. So when he came in, one of us would call the other and she another one again Uhoh, didnt really get much sleep back in those days, haha.

Then in May 2000 the other version of Bnet was launched where we first became the real messageboards, and the email section and all, and Sailor was in chat for hours, jumping in and out like a little boy who was excited by his new toys he got for Christmas. So cool. And we were even able to email him. And it was always so exciting to look on the boards to see if he had posted something

I also met soooo many great and nice people on Bnet, and also met a lot of them in person on the tours, on which I experienced the best times of my life.

And then I had the chance to witness a lot of special concerts and shows thanks to Bowienet, where I would have never gotten tickets for otherwise, like Roseland, the BBC show in 2000, A&E Live By Request, Maida Vale, etc., and won other cool stuff at several contests.

So yes, pretty much at this moment its my 10th year anniversary on BowieNet...I don't recall the exact date anymore unfortunately, but it was something around this time, February/March 1999....

Even though Im not around here as often as I used to be in the past, , I'll remain a Bnetter for as long as they let me
Now I just wish we'd get a new album some day, or other great news, so Bnet would be buzzing with excitement again! And I'm staying optimistic...not giving up hope yet!

PS: Well, one big disappointment for me on here of course was the personal phone call from Sailor that I won at a points contest in August 2000...just simply because I never got it

But ok, of course I had many other great moments with him instead, so I can never stay mad at him for very long
