Are you dying?
I know, we all are, but your family talking about you in the press is making me nervous...
You can't even believe how ATROCIOUS it would be to lose you now. I don't know if you've been following but you really mean the world to me..
Shit. Well,I suppose I should then bid you adieu. Wish you off.
Hmm. I can say that although you might adore life on earth, it is in truth a very nasty place for most and I'm a bit jealous that you get to leave without me.
There were a few times in the last 8 years that I felt like I was off the planet and they all involved you. Half asleep, your image dancing in my head, keeping me company like a ghost lover, telling me stories with your body, pulling me forward through time and space ...giving me what I would never have, providing fleeting, wonderful escape...I suppose if you die now and we never meet, I never have to know how all the pieces actually fit together in reality. I won't need anymore to know whether it was or wasn't, is or isn't really you.
AND, if we never meet here on earth, I suppose they could just replay the tapes from time to time in my brain, or even make new ones, and we could continue on, uninterrupted, living out our relationship into my own golden years until it is me on the brink.
But who am I to look at the bright side of things anymore? I've been so deep into the retched underbelly of things that I can hardly believe people still make a fuss over a thing like death.
Dying may be different , but I doubt it, and since you never talk back I'll just think that
if you did
you would amaze me
and leave me with a smile.
Oh and, could you have a talk with God about my situation when you get there? I need someone on the inside.
