This could be a new addiction. I have never been a very confident rider. Well, confident on horses that are sweet natured and don't generally put a foot wrong. Unfortunately, I don't have a horse like that. My horse is a cheeky bastard, who will test his rider again and again, and sometimes shows us his box of tricks still isn't nearing it's bottom.
So for me to sign up for something like the XC/cross country course was a big thing. A bit of a challenge to myself. Recently I have decided to do a few more things I've "always wanted to do" and this is one of them. Solon has been an absolute star, feeling very steady and confident. Even so, I'm somewhat relieved to find myself still alive when I get of the horse.
All in all though, pretty cool. And I just love his ears being pricked forward. He seems to be really enjoying himself.

Solon not taking any chances

Water's scary!

Up and away :)

Interesting.
Well over two years ago I applied for a job at a multinational very close to where I live (I could crawl into the office). It was a pleasant enough interview, nice chap to talk to, but after a few rounds of interviews, they told me no and said they decided to go ahead with candidates a little more experienced. Fair enough. I was a little disappointed at the time, but life goes on.
A short while after that, they contacted me again, saying the had an entirely different position available, which they thought might suit me. I'm not entirely sure what happened with that then, but that one didn't particularly feel right anyway, so I wasn't too worried.
Now, almost 2.5 years later, an HR woman called me to ask me would I still be interested in working with them. They are now looking for someone a little more junior and apparently I had made such an impression, the guy I had the first interview with still remembered me now.
I told them I'm quite happy where I am now, but I'm not going to say "no" straight away. So I go in one of these days to check how far they want to go to get me on board.
Quite flattering, really.

Solon and me taking our very first XC jump ever :)
Besides that, I bought another pone. Quite randomly. She's a beautiful blonde 2 year old showjumper mare. I'm hoping she'll score well at the mare grading when she's 3 and will have some beautiful foals.
