I had to ask, and well, yes, "Yassassin" really does mean "long life". The Turks I asked didn't know the song though. You would say "yassassin" to someone who's just had a good thing happen to him or her, to make it last a bit longer.

Istanbul was mind blowing. Mostly in its sounds.
