Quit BNet a year and a half ago. Not missing it. Moved on to other things, learning,learning...
Living in Los Angeles now. Enjoying it very much, much to my surprise. Well anchored in the music and entertainment industries makes it so much easier :)

I took a "test drive" on Tuesday to see how I would do without my cane,but still carried it around with me. Did ok. Then on Wednesday I decided that enough was enough and I needed to get rid of the damned thing once and for all. So I left it at home in a closet. Though I walk with a very pronounced limp and my leg throbs in pain by the end of the day, I have to say it has been a success
This is where the Do'h moment comes in. More of a poor planning thing on my part. See, I normally take aspirin for pain these days, and a couple percocet at bedtime so I can sleep through the night without being awake at 3 am with leg pain.
I'm getting minor surgery next week to remove the IV line in my chest, so I cannot take aspirin this week... Now I have to take percocet during the day. I should have waited until after the IV removal to get rid of the cane, for I found myself at work today staring off into the monitor on the computer instead of doing scheduling. 
Ah well.. what's done is done, and this time last year I was in a lot worse shape, so I'll gladly take the minor annoyances now.

I GOT RID OF MY CANE!!!!!!!!!!!!
No more little old men coming up to me with a hint of a sarcastic smile saying
" Oh! so it's not just us old folks who need a cane ,is it?"
damned hunchbacked,wrinkly,denture breathed,velcro-shoe-strap,sweater wearing old punks! 
I'm gonna miss that a little lol
