We were dumb. But, you were fun, boy.... how (we) wonder where you are...

i was just going through some old pictures on my hard drive and thought i'd post one. this one is from a deep sea fishing trip i took with Dad, Dolores, Siya and Justin over the summer. Between the seagulls and the harbor seal stealing my bait, I didn't catch a damn thing. But, it sure was a fun trip. You all know how I love the ocean.
Dad's doing wonderfully, btw. He'll be 80 years old this October. wer'e all thinking about either taking a cruze or renting a house in Lake Arrowhead or something.... we'll see what he decides. He did just have his knee replaced. But, he's healing up nicely and the doctor said he should be out playing golf in a month.
me? i'm just sitting here waiting for music to upload on my itunes. my computer crashed about four months ago and i lost alllllll my music. some i have on disc. like bowie; altough i can't find them right now.... i put them in a baggie in a safe place.... can't for the life of me remember where.
I must say... it's been an interesting year (2009). I, of course, had my ups and downs
. But, my faith is still intact. His and my relationship has certainly changed over the years. We're closer sometimes more than others. But, I stay true.

I'm just now listening to "Bright Eyes." I absolutely love Conor Oberst (and possy). "Landlocked Blues" is my current selection. Because, "....I'm balancing history books up on my head....and our freedom a joke, we're just taking a piss....." I'll have to wait and see if my links stay. I had a problem with the link I used in another post. It seems Sony has an issue with BowieNet (and it's affiliates). So, the like I used to John Mayer's "Who Says" was broken. So, I went ahead and deleted the blog.
Siya and I are in a new business..... We own an alternative medicine dispensory (two actuallly) here in San Diego. We still have the Sunglass Shop and Optical. But, the business is in chapter 11 (bankruptcy). It's dead. We're just preparing the burial. Anyways, our new non-profit business is doing quite well. And Lord knows, it's rewarding. We deal primarily with people with MS, AIDS, CANCER, MI, etc. Medical Marijuana is legal here in California. And people should have safe access (as the law states). The problem is; a lot of "drug dealers" have gotten into the business. We aim, with the help of a task force appointed by the city counsil, to run them out of business.
anyways... that's all I have for today. It sure does feel good to be back here on Bowie Net. See you around....
Love,
Monica

oh my Lord... Bnet has a spell checker now. when did this happen? What else has been going on around here since I've been away tending to family matters?
Sure feels nice to just sit here, like the old days, typing on Bowie Net, listening to my favorite Bowie songs - where ever the path leads me.
right now, i'm listening to "Subterranean" and thinking about all the good times that were had here on this site in the years past.
Nothing is the same since the Sailor went off to sea. I only hope he returns to his home port some day soon. FaceBook is all well and dandy. We've all hooked up and have carried on. But, BowieNet.Com is still my home. Which is why it makes me a little sad to look down the list of friends, whose blogs and responses helped me through some of the darkest times of my life, and I can't help but get a little sad at what has become of this site. We were so much more than a "fan site." We were a community, brought together by the man himself. What we had here was special.
David; if you ever happen by these parts again; would you please drop us a line.... "everybody says 'HI'." they're all hounding Toni Visconti now, trying to get him to work with you on something new. What are your thoughts on the matter?
anyways... as you can tell; the baby's getting big. Everyone here is doing wonderfully. Siya and Justin are working six days a week now in our new "alternative medicine dispensary." Jocelyn has started school (she's studying fashion) and she's running a roller derby league (the hidden city derby girls). Dusty works for valvoline and does really good tattoo work on the side. me? you know me. i'm a homebody. so, i babysit.
anyways... i sure miss your blogs, my dear friends. i'm longing for the old days, i suppose. David was everywhere. People were excited. There was joy and laughter. oh, well. carry on....
