I love Rufus!
May 21, 2010 12:31PM
Just back from Berlin where I saw Rufus Wainwright performing his new album All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu on Wednesday May 19th at the Volksbühne Theater. It was my first Rufus concert but it certainly won't be my last one. I got into his music only a few months ago when the song Dinner At Eight appeared on David's iTunes playlist, so it is once again thanks to David that I discovered a brilliant artist. :)
I would love to write a review of the concert but I am actually at a loss of words. It was amazing how Rufus created such a rich, almost orchestral sound only with his voice and piano playing. I could go on and on about his amazing voice which is still in my head, he has one of the most distinctive voices I ever heard, ranging from barely audible whispers to operatic vibrato.
All in all it was such an overwhelming experience, and I'll treasure the memories of this wonderful performance for the rest of my life!
Spring

I love the colours of spring, and my neighbours have a particularly beautiful tree in their garden that is now bursting into life. Unfortunately I only have a small picture, taken with my mobile phone.
