February 01, 2009 06:55PM

Nightclubbing were nightclubbing
Were whats happening
Nightclubbing were nightclubbing
Were an ice machine
We see people brand new people
Theyre something to see
When were nightclubbing
Bright-white clubbing
Oh isnt it wild?

Nightclubbing were nightclubbing
Were walking through town
Nightclubbing were nightclubbing
We walk like a ghost
We learn dances brand new dances
Like the nuclear bomb
When were nightclubbing
Bright white clubbing
Oh isnt it wild...

Iggy Pop/David Bowie

I got to finally see Grace Jones, She sang well for the most part and talked a lotta shit from her quick change room in between songs but hey it was Grace Jones and Being a diva and all I suppose one can come to expect that.
The Photos that i took were from the Opening number- Nightclubbing I was up @ front of the House about 200 feet away- The Roundhouse was jam packed wasn't even going to bother to try to make it to the barricade So hese were the photos I got along with some other ones that I'll be throwing up on Facebook in a day or two after I tinker with them some more.
It was an adventure and a spectacle all rolled into one! Saw Jerry Hall go steaming thru the back stage area w/ a girlfriend out into the audience and Eno was somewhere out there.

I liked the show a real simple but effective light show costume changes galore a killer band doing electro clash trashy dub reggae versions of old tunes and the new songs from Hurricane were good as well worth giving a listen to it.
The one song that Eno apparently had produced deffo. had the feel of My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts/ Electro Funk. A nice treat.

Closing time....

December 05, 2008 12:53PM

HAve you ever found yourself in a situation where you are like waaaay excited to go to a party at some one's house or at a club and you you turn up and you have a brilliant time and the conversation is witty, dynamic and you are just in a groove and clicking with people.

As the night goes on various chemicals natural and man made sorta kick in and the level of conversation decreases and you feel like it has all been said before and now it is time to start to make your farewells before you end up the crashed out on the couch in a stupor or summink worse depending on either one's lack of self worth or common sense.

My point being... is it is time to make my farewells and leave the party officially.

I am cancelling my acct. here It's been fun for a bit and I have had some good times with you all and in the company of DB @ various live shows..but I feel it is time for me to move on as my energies and attentions are predominently elsewhere these days.

wishing you all well and hopefully our paths will cross again!

Best wishes

Chris

Chelsea Hotel No.2

November 17, 2008 02:25PM

I remember you well in the chelsea hotel,
You were talking so brave and so sweet,
Giving me head on the unmade bed,
While the limousines wait in the street.
Those were the reasons and that was new york,
We were running for the money and the flesh.
And that was called love for the workers in song
Probably still is for those of them left.

Ah but you got away, didn't you babe,
You just turned your back on the crowd,
You got away, i never once heard you say,
I need you, i don't need you,
I need you, i don't need you
And all of that jiving around.

I remember you well in the chelsea hotel
You were famous, your heart was a legend.
You told me again you preferred handsome men
But for me you would make an exception.
And clenching your fist for the ones like us
Who are oppressed by the figures of beauty,
You fixed yourself, you said, "well never mind,
We are ugly but we have the music."

And then you got away, didn't you babe...

I don't mean to suggest that i loved you the best,
I can't keep track of each fallen robin.
I remember you well in the chelsea hotel,
That's all, i don't even think of you that often.

What a day....

I spent most of my morning working @ the Royal Albert Hall loading in Leonard Cohen's tour today.

I was passing thru the corridor on my way to catering for a nice espresso when i saw him come in. He moved like a man with a sense of purpose. Perhaps his body maybe 71 years., but he had this energy, grace and vitality of a young man.

Later on after I was finishing my time there as a stop on the band was rehearsing for tonight's show.
Mr. Cohen was singing Chelsea Hotel No.2 during the sound check one of my all time favorite L.C. songs. I got to watch him and his band a mere several feet away sitting by the side of the stage in one of the house seats.

It was a beautiful song and a beautiful moment.

I can honestly say that there are only a few entertainers/ proformers that emotionally move me, David Bowie's music and songs is one person and Leonard Cohen is another.

I called Fran and told her about Chelsea Hotel... we both wanted to hear that song when we went to the 02 to see Leonard Cohen there for his first London show.

I wished I could have taken a picture of the moment, but it may have been rude and imposing on my part and unprofessionalto say the least. So I didn't.
But I got to share the moment with Fran!
