Yesterday I wrote about one of the most famous Dutch writers: Jan Wolkers (79). Today he was in Leiden (where he grew up) to sign his new novel 'Zomerhitte'. Some people had to wait more than one hour before they got their signature (which was in fact a seal, since he's having problems with his hands and can't write anymore).
The publisher and the bookstore had promised me an interview. But when I got there, there was only time for that if he had finished the session. Because of the enormous interest he started one hour earlier and finished one hour later. So what was supposed to last only one hour, lasted three hours.
Since it took so long I had no time for an interview. Unfortunately I couldn't wait that long.
But... At the end of the evening the bookstore called me at work. Jan Wolkers would wait for me to do the interview after all.
And so, highly unusual, I went back!
Yesterday I referred to him as a dirty old man. Of course I was only kidding, but how could I be more wrong. What a charming and heart-warming man. May he live long!
P.S. I asked him if the sex is still great at his age (remember: 79!). He answered, without hesitating, YES!
So don't worry folks...

This is awesome news! 
Elvis Costello & the Imposters will perform this year on the 25th edition of Parkpop in The Hague! Parkpop is the biggest free festival in Europe (with an average of 250.000 visitors every year!).
Other artists that have confirmed: De Dijk, Killing Joke, Fish, Gabriėl Rios and Tokyo Ska Paradise.
This means the best opportunity ever to do an interview with Elvis Costello! YES!!! Last year he was at the North Sea Jazz, but his manager was a pain in the ass! Hopefully he doesn't read this, otherwise my chances for an interview are "less than zero" (Isn't that an Elvis song?) procent...
Last years' edition I had an interview with the incrediblel Bert Hart.
We had a rather intimate interview before she had to go on stage. After a stunning performance I met her on her way back to the dressing-room. Bodyguards didn't allow to do another interview, but she stopped especially for me (saying "ah, you handsome") and answered some questions.
When the bodyguards tried to take her with them she embraced me and kissed me full at the mouth.
Wow, that was definitely my highlight of the festival...
