Happy Birthday: One Year Old Today!!

on August 31, 1999
Break out the candle! BowieNet officially turns one year old today (that's really 10 years on the cyber calendar). And when you think about it - we REALLY accomplished a lot from our little web seed idea:

What's Really Happening - the contest, the recording , the webcast and best of all the track making it onto 'hours'(not to mention making Alex Grant a household name)....

liveandwell.com - the making of an Internet CD production project by the members, for the members....

    VH-1 Storytellers Contest - a once-in-a-lifetime event....

Fame Remix - your were the producer at the controls....

    great

Vh1 Journals

on August 30, 1999

Special thanks to Kevin Mazur for the photos

On August 23rd of 1999, BowieNet members from all over the world flew into New York City for the rare chance to participate in the taping of David Bowie's VH-1 STORYTELLERS session.

50 winners were selected at random. They came from Argentina, Sweden, Canada, Denmark, The Netherlands, US, UK, Brazil, France, and Germany for this special opportunity to see David perform in front of an intimate crowd of 250.

This section of BowieNet is where we will now hear their stories. We have asked all participants of the Storytellers show to write in and share their personal journals with us.
