Son and his girlfriend now in the maternity hospital,looks like granddaughter baby ellie will be in the world soon!

Well that`s Christmas 2008 over and the first Christmas without Mum and Dad here(though i am sure they were watching over us),it was hard but we just got on with it the best we could,Mum and Dad would have liked us to enjoy ourselves.
Only the 3 of us Christmas morning,oldest daughter was at her boyfriends and our son was at his own house 15 miles from here,we all met up at my nieces house in the afternoon though where i saw most of my in-laws and our Grandson Jack who got a nice drum kit from Santa! ,i bet the neighbours will not be pleased with that! 
then we headed back to our own house for Christmas dinner.
After dinner around 8pm i was relaxing and thinking about my parents when we saw something bright hovering over the village,i don`t know what it was and it headed north quite rapidly,it would be nice to think it was a sign from Mum and Dad but it was probably a hot air balloon or something,who knows?
Our new grandaughter Ellie is due any day now,i hope she arrives in 2009 which would be a great start to a new(hopefully better)year.
It`s 250 years in 2009 since Rabbie Burns birth and Scotland is running a homecoming event to get people to visit Scotland in 2009,here`s the video that`s advertising it.

So as 2008 draws to a close i will not miss it one bit,it was the worst year of mine and my familys life and i hope and pray 2009 is a better year not only for me and my family but for you reading this and your family,i wish you good health and happiness for 2009.

I've nothing much to offer There's nothing much to take

Read something at the weekend which must be true for a lot of people,it`s strange how you view yourself totally different from how others view you and you contribute and mean much more to family/friends than you think you do.
So don`t put yourself down,you are valued even though sometimes it feels you are not.
Its coming up to a difficult time of the year for me and my family,first Christmas without Mum and Dad,we always went to my parents for our Christmas lunch so we are having lunch at our own house this year which will seem strange. 
I am using the Firefox browser now,i was having problems with IE,i should have started using it years ago,its so much faster and better to use.
Working until Wednesday and then off until Monday,dunno if i will get around to doing another blog before Christmas so i would just like to wish all my friends on BowieNet and outside of BowieNet who reads this a very happy Christmas.
