Reality Tour Live
Welcome to the BowieNet 'A Reality Tour' page in celebration of the upcoming Sony Music release: David Bowie - A Reality Tour Live 2-CD set.

Released on January 25th (26th USA) this career-spanning double CD is the soundtrack to the live Reality Tour concert filmed in Dublin over two nights in November 2003.  In addition to the original thirty tracks included on the concert DVD, the brand-new CD contains three previously unreleased bonus tracks from the same shows: Fall Dog Bombs The Moon, Breaking Glass and China Girl.

The set list covers tracks from Bowie’s 1970 release, The Man Who Sold The World, up to his last studio release, the Reality album itself from 2003. A Reality Tour began in October, 2003 in Europe, and was the number-one grossing tour of the first half of 2004. Rolling Stone later dubbed it as the Best Tour in their 2003 Music Awards poll.

Isle Of Wight videos
After an incredible 110+ dates of the 2003/2004 A Reality Tour, David Bowie returned to Britain for his final UK show of the tour on June 13th at The 2004 Isle Of Wight Festival.

The three videos on this page are from that very performance: All The Young Dudes, the smash hit seventies anthem that Bowie gifted to Mott The Hoople in 1972; the even more anthemic Bowie/Eno-penned classic, "Heroes", and the menacing Bowie/Pop/Alomar collaboration, Sister Midnight.

These clips show David Bowie clearly at home and having fun with this crowd, and his band at the top of their game.

Speaking of games, Bowie had to play to a predominantly English audience at the festival that had just learned of the England team's defeat to France in the European Cup. But even this wasn't enough to dampen spirits, as reported later in a glowing review of Bowie's performance in the NME: "He's doing 'Ashes To Ashes'! Now it's 'Heroes'! Football, what football? Euro what? 'Ziggy Stardust'! Who lost? Who Cares? It's BOWIE! F***ing DAVID BOWIE!"

Total Blam Blam's A Reality Tour photographs
BowieNet News Editor, Total Blam Blam, was one of the official tour photographers for A Reality Tour. Below is a tiny sample of the hundreds of pictures he shot during various dates on the tour, from his privileged position at the foot of the stage in the US and Europe. These pictures are a taster for an upcoming permanent section on BowieNet that will feature many more of Blam's snaps of David Bowie from various shows and TV performances. From live shows to promote 'hours...' in 1999, right up to his guest appearance with David Gilmour at the RFH and his hilarious appearance with Ricky Gervais on Extras in 2006.
